What are your responsibilities?
At Deceuninck, we are looking for an experienced and driven Procurement Manager to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic procurement vision for the European region, contributing to value creation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
You will combine a strategic procurement role with leading and developing a team of buyers within Europe. In close collaboration with internal stakeholders, international suppliers, and regional procurement counterparts (incl. the US and Turkey), you will help build a future-oriented and sustainable supply chain while leveraging synergies across the broader organization.
Your Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and implement the procurement strategy for the EU region.
- Manage strategic spend across multiple categories and maximize value creation, cost optimization, and risk management.
- Develop and refine category strategies aligned with the needs of our organization and sites.
- Conduct in-depth market and supplier analyses to identify opportunities in terms of cost, service, quality, and sustainability.
- Negotiate strategic contracts with international suppliers.
Team Leadership
- Lead the procurement team in Europe, motivating and developing team members in their professional growth.
- Ensure clear prioritization, efficient workload allocation, and strong collaboration within the team.
- Support and guide lead buyers in complex negotiations and strategic projects.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and the implementation of best practices within the procurement organization.
Processes & Digitalization
- Identify and implement digital tools and systems to make procurement processes more efficient and transparent.
- Optimize procurement processes and promote data-driven decision making within the team.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives where necessary.
Collaboration & Sustainability
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as R&D, Operations, Sales, Quality, Finance, and Product Management.
- Build sustainable partnerships with suppliers and explore new collaboration opportunities.
- Act as a key interface with procurement counterparts in other regions, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and alignment of sourcing strategies where relevant.
- Actively contribute to Deceuninck’s sustainability objectives for 2030, including promoting sustainable materials and processes within the supply chain.
You will report to the COO/CTO of the Deceuninck Group.
Who we are looking for
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business Engineering, or Engineering Sciences.
- At least 7 years of experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably in an industrial environment
- Experience in leading or coaching a team
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Affinity with digital procurement tools and systems (ERP, spend analytics, e-procurement).
- Analytical mindset and comfortable with data analysis and market research
- Results-oriented, organized, and proactive
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English
- Willing to travel a few days per month within Europe
