What are your responsibilities?
We are in search of a results-oriented General Manager Compounding & Recyclage to guide our organization’s operations, spearhead business development initiatives, and inspire our team. The ideal candidate combines strategic insight, strong leadership skills, and exceptional communication abilities to drive business growth, expand market opportunities, and foster team success.
Your key responsibilities include:
Strategic Management
- Further define and own the company’s strategy on compounding & recycling in alignment with corporate goals.
- Take full responsibility for the organization’s profit and loss, ensuring financial targets are met (fully P&L Ownership).
Business development
- Identify, evaluate and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to drive sustainable growth.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market developments to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities and reputation.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all operational functions to ensure efficiency, high-quality delivery, and optimal use of resources.
- Enhance and refine procedures to achieve optimal efficiency and productivity.
Leadership
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the organization, ensuring alignment between day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals.
- Lead, mentor and motivate teams, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment. You act as a key liaison across the organization.
Change Management
- Drive organizational change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation of new strategies, systems, or processes.
You provide overall leadership to a 90-person team and will report to the CTO/COO and CEO of the Deceuninck Group. You will be part of the Management team Group.
Who are we looking for
- Master’s degree required in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, ...
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates who have held management or leadership roles in an industrial context.
- Proven track record in achieving revenue and growth targets, identifying new market opportunities, and developing strategic partnerships.
- Industry-specific experience (PVC, Polymer, Plastics, Recycling) is an added advantage.
- Ability to coordinate multi-departmental activities, implement process improvements, and maintain excellence in operations.
- Strong people leader with a talent for motivating, developing, and engaging teams to achieve shared goals.
- Combines strategic, long-term vision with hands-on execution in day-to-day operations.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, with a proactive approach to recognizing opportunities and taking ownership.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 25%).
- You communicate clearly and to the point (in English/Dutch – French is a plus).
